Have you ever wondered, how much time we spend thinking about things that neither rewards you with mental satisfaction, nor any kind of benefit... but we just can’t get things out of our mind...

Why do we face so many problems in life?? or i must say... Why do we perceive our self to be surrounded by troubles?? At times it feels that this is the worst that can happen to me... Give that very thought, another thought...

If you look back, you will realise that 90% of the times, the thought was not even worth thinking about... or the problem that we were scared of, did not even exist or occur... So, why did we burn so much of our blood, getting irritated on stupid matters, or waste so much fun, being busy with crap thoughts... That’s because, there is a lack of positive thinking in our attitude...

I will not deny the fact that I have never faced such a situation... In fact I was a big victim of the same and still go through it at times, but with constant practice of thinking positive and taking things in the right way, my ratio of 10:90 of thinking positive:negative has surely reversed...

I will share an example with you that will give you a better understanding of what I mean to say...

When I was in my teens, I used to get pissed off when my mom used to confirm if I was going to my friends place only; or call up to ask where I am, even when I did say before leaving where I was going. All kinds of thoughts used to come to my mind like - "She doesn’t believe me and she never will" OR "I will never do anything wrong; she knows that; still, why does she have to question me every time" OR "Next time I will not just tell her where I am going" AND somewhere a small thought "She is too concerned about me. She cares a lot".

Every time such a thing happened, I used to discuss this lot with my elder sister... sometimes for hours. But as I grew up, I realised that she is a bit too possessive about us and cares a lottttttttt... Wish I would have understood that before. That would have saved a lot of my time discussing things that never existed, or scratching my mind over fantasies...

Doesn’t this happen to most of you?? Doesn’t our mind first think of all kinds of negative possibilities before we can allot some very small probability to something good... I know it’s true, that always be ready for the worse, so that anything that comes your way looks good, but that doesn’t mean to live in the worst conditions... These thoughts block your mind and will become a habit; good thoughts will just stop coming and you will become what is called a "PESSIMIST".

There is a small effort required to avoid this and make life much simpler and happier... There are always hundreds of ways of looking at things... Find the best way and try to believe on it even when you know its wrong... You must be thinking, its easy to write but very difficult to follow every time... I know it will be tough in the start... but once you can do that, I bet it will give you a light feeling... Try to force yourself to believe what is good...

You must have heard of the book "The Secret"... It says always think good. Because what we think is what we get. One of my very good friends has given the jist of the whole book in a few words.

"What you think is what you feel, what you feel is what you do, and what you do decides what you get. So always think good."

- Gaurav Jogani.

But beware; it applies for negative thoughts too.

I will post another example here... All you teenagers will easily be able to relate to it. There are some people, who walk into your life and become special even before they become close to you. It’s not just a feeling of your partner, may be sometimes just a special friend. Now, at times when you call up that special friend of yours and he or she keeps the phone saying that they are busy and will call up later. Now when they forget to call, what goes through your mind?? "Why didn’t I get a call back", "Did I do something that could have hurt that person", "Is that person fine? Hope nothing wrong on her side?", "Are we having a fight?", "Did that foe of mine gossip something about me in his/her ears?" and so on and so forth...

Why do we waste so much time thinking about all these things, which are all proved wrong, when you talk to that person the next time... It’s a worm (keeda) in our mind, which keeps us think over the same thoughts again and again... Our aim must be to kill that worm. And that can be done by consciously not trying to get disturbed by that, and keeping yourself busy with other things of your interest. You will gain control over your thoughts after practicing this for some occasions and this will make you a confident person... All the above thoughts are negative feelings which must be eradicated...

Positive thinking can change the personality as a whole... You will start emitting positive vibes and you will attract a lot of people towards your nature.
